Smooth Skin Has Nothing to do With Luck

“Oh she’s so lucky, she has such clear skin!”

“I wish I was lucky enough to not get in-growns!”

Have you ever caught yourself saying any of that? Well, sis, I have good news for you. Luck has nothing to do with it!

Clear skin, defined eyebrows, and smooth bikini lines aren’t just for the fortunate few. You can (and deserve to) have glowing healthy skin, from head to underarm to toe! Keep reading and I’ll share a few things you can do right now to get that “lucky you” skin.

Choose food that nourishes your skin

Have you ever noticed that your skin breaks out if you eat too much refined sugar? It’s not your imagination! What we eat can either nourish our skin or lead to inflammation and dehydration.

For happy-go-lucky skin, say YES to food with omega-3s that mitigate wrinkles, regulate the skin's oil production, and combat acne, like tuna and salmon. And carbohydrates are not the enemy, as long as you’re eating whole grains, which are a great source of vitamin B. Think brown rice, whole wheat pasta, quinoa, and oatmeal. And don’t skimp on the lycopene, which helps in decreasing hyperpigmentation, balancing skin coloration, and ensuring a more uniform skin tone. Asparagus, grapefruit, red cabbage, tomatoes, and watermelon (yum!) are all high in lycopene.

Say NO to the obvious toxins, like tobacco, which can damage your skin’s appearance and texture (not to mention the harm it does on the inside). And you’re gonna want to avoid pasta, pizza, cereal, snacks, and bread made from processed carbs, which can harm the skin’s collagen and result in wrinkles. Speaking of aging, refined sugar and trans fat (here’s looking at you packaged baked goods, fried food, and margarine) can all cause inflammation that accelerates the skin’s aging process.

Hydrate for happy skin

You can buy all the expensive moisturizing creams you want, but nothing beats hydrating from the inside out. Water is the number one thing to drink for a glowing complexion, as drinking water can flush out toxins from your body. Aim for six to eight glasses (about two liters) a day to combat dull, dry skin.

If you’re drinking plenty of water but your skin is still itchy, dry, and blotchy, you might need to look at what else you’re drinking. Soda, juices containing high fructose corn syrup, and alcohol can all be dehydrating to your body and skin. To keep your skin hydrated and stop dry skin in its tracks, reduce your intake of these beverages… or cut them out entirely!

Show your skin some extra love

To break the unlucky-skin cycle, remove impurities, and replenish the skin you’re in, sometimes you need a little extra care. That’s where I come in! I’m a skin healing, sugaring, hair waxing, licensed magician that specializes in beautifying your skin.

And I can tell you that one of the best things you can do to get that “lucky you” skin is treat yourself to a facial. Just keep in mind that glowing skin doesn’t happen after one facial, so make it part of your self-care routine every month. I know this requires consistency and commitment. But remember, it’s a commitment that you're making to yourself … and if you stay consistent, you’ll see results soon enough!

If your goal is to treat acne, psoriasis, fine lines, or heal other skin conditions, let’s get you in for some light therapy! If you really want to change your luck, a spa facial is your ticket. This luxurious facial includes a hot steam, sculpting face massage, and a relaxing arm massage.

The whole point of a Brazilian or bikini hair removal is to have smooth, fuzz-free skin, right? But if your bikini wax leaves you with irritated skin and in-growns, it kind of defeats the purpose. Try making a sugaring appointment with me instead of a bikini wax and enjoy all the benefits of a wax without aggravating your skin, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Considering that your skin is your largest organ, it makes sense that it’s vital to your health and wellness. This is why it is so important to invest some extra time and energy into skin care.

Stop wishing for gorgeous skin and make your own luck. Set up an appointment with me today and start your journey to glowing, healthy skin.

Hugs & Aloha,

Kacie
